Note: Out-of-state teams
must use the same exact team name from qualifying State Games
competition for verification pur-poses. Due to the length of
time between qualification and competition at the SGA, teams may
replace up to 50% of the
players on their rosters to offset the loss of team members who
cannot participate in the SGA. Replacement players MUST
HAVE PARTICIPATED in the same sport in that state’s State Games
in any qualifying year (2005, 2006 Summer or 2006,
2007 Winter). Each individual player will be registered by
his/her coach and must sign the roster/waiver; if under 18 a
guardian must sign the roster/waiver.
ADULT Competition Rules and Format: United States Flag
Football Association rules
(www.usffa.org) will govern the adult
portion of the competition. When registering, each adult team
must specify either the recreational or competitive event.
Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games. The tournament will be
modified pool play, dependent on the number of teams registered.
The top teams will advance to bracket play. Games will consist
of two 20-minute halves with a running clock until the last two
minutes of the game. The clock will stop in the final 2-minutes
of the game. If a team is down by 18 or more, the
game will end at the 18 minute mark of the second half. The
minimum team size is 9 players per team, the maximum team
size is 18 players per team. There MUST be 9 players on the
field at all times. The field size is 80 x 40 yards with two 10
yard end zones.
