Note: Women may play
on men's teams. These teams will play in the men's divisions.
15 & Under
Division: Players who were born on or after September 1,
1991. 18 & Under Division: Players who were born on or
after September 1, 1988 OR players who were born on or
after September 1, 1987 and a high school student during the
2006 - 2007 school year. Out-of-state teams must use the same
exact team name from qualifying State Games competition for
verification purposes. Due to the length of time between
qualification and competition at the SGA, teams may replace up
to 50% of the players on their rosters to offset the loss of
team members who cannot participate in the SGA. Replacement
players MUST HAVE PARTICIPATED in the same sport in that state’s
State Games in any qualifying year (2005, 2006 Summer or 2006,
2007 Winter). Each individual player will be registered by
his/her coach and must sign the roster/waiver; if under 18 a
guardian must sign the roster/waiver.
Competition Rules and Format: This competition is
sanctioned by USA Volleyball (USAV). USAV rules
(www.usavolleyball.org) will govern this competition.
All players must be USAV members
and present membership cards at check-in. A special one event
$5 USAV membership will be available on-site. If you are a
member of USAV, please list your USAV membership number in the
volleyball sport specific questions on the entry form.
Participants must present proof of membership on site or pay the
$5 fee. Division category is determined by the age of the
oldest player on the team. Grass & Beach teams MUST list
partner on the registration form. State Games of America
Commissioners reserve the right to cancel or combine divisions.
Grass & Beach Volleyball: The first 32 teams in each
event will be accepted. Teams may only consist of two
players. Each team is guaranteed three matches in pool play.
The top teams in pool play will advance to bracket play.
Advancement is dependent on the win/loss record, all games will
be counted. Those not advancing will play in a consolation
bracket. Matches are the best two out of three games with a
rally score to 25, must win by 2 points. If a third game is
necessary, play is to 15, rally score, win by 2. Idle teams
will be scheduled to officiate games.
Indoor Volleyball: The first 32 teams in each event

players and a maximum of twelve players. Each team is
guaranteed three matches in pool play. The top teams in pool
play will advance to bracket play. Advancement is dependent on
the win/loss record, all games will be counted. Those not

best two out of three games with a rally score to 25, must win
by 2 points. If a third game is necessary, play is to 15, rally
