SECURITY & ALTERNATE VENUES

Alternate venues are in place for facilities that have the potential to become off-limits in the event of heightened security across the United States. Should the need arise, the change in venues will be publicized on this web site.

General security requirements for the U.S. Air Force Academy and Fort Carson are listed below:

  • All drivers must be prepared to present their driver’s license, vehicle registration and vehicle insurance at the gate.

  • Passengers will be required to present a photo id at the gate.

  • All persons entering the venue are subject to search

  • All personal belongings are also subject to search

U.S. Air Force Academy Specific Entrance Policies

  • All persons and personal belongings entering the Cadet Gymnasium or the Athletic Fields are subject to search
     

  • The following items are NOT permitted in the Cadet Gymnasium or the Athletic Fields:

         * Alcoholic beverages
         * Bags larger than 8 x 11 inches. Hard-sided bags or coolers
         * Diaper bags are permitted if infant is present
         * Cameras with lenses greater than 4 inches in length
         * No flash photography (permitted for Athletic Fields only)
         * Handheld video cameras are permitted
         * Glass containers or cans
         * Empty transparent soft plastic bottles 24 oz. or less are permitted
         * Items that cannot be readily inspected
         * Backpacks to include bota bags, wine-skins, and camelbacks
         * Infant carrier packs permitted if infant is present
         * Items deemed dangerous or unsafe by security personnel
         * Laser pointers
         * Pets (other than working service dogs)
         * Sticks, poles or umbrellas (permitted for Athletic Fields only)
         * Weapons, Firearms, Fireworks
         * Artificial noisemakers of any kind
         * Banners or large signs (team banners are permitted)
     

  • Food and Drink are permitted under the following conditions:
         Food items (no chewing gum) are allowed if all items can be readily inspected.
         Factory-sealed transparent soft plastic water bottles (including mineral water), 24 oz. or less are permitted
     

  • Seatbacks 18 inches or less are permitted. Seatbacks will be permitted as long as they don’t require a search due to excessive pockets and compartments.
     

  • Storage of prohibited items is not provided.
     

  • Parking is not allowed in reserved parking spaces.  TICKETS WILL BE ISSUED to those who park illegally or in reserved spaces.

    ATHLETES ONLY

    Athletes are permitted to have drink containers, equipment, and/or clothing bags. These items must be taken directly to team areas and are subject to search.
