The State Games of America is a multi-sport event, held biennially, for
athletes of all ages and skill levels. The 2009 State Games of America will be
combined with Colorado's Rocky Mountain State Games, with events taking place
July 30 - August 2, 2009, in Colorado Springs. For more information, please

“Encouraging Colorado citizens
to engage on a journey toward physical wellness.”
Lighten Up
Colorado is designed to unite groups of 2-10 employees, family members,
friends – anyone – in a common mission to improve their physical wellness.
Each group competes against other teams in a challenge to accumulate the most
minutes of physical activity per participant. Team minutes are submitted
weekly so that participants can follow their progress online throughout the
eight-week program.

In 2008, Lighten Up Colorado held its inaugural kickoff event at Jack Quinn's
Running Club. Over 60 prizes were raffled off, Comcast provided free pedometers,
and everybody got into the Lighten Up spirit by going out for a 5K!
